About this repair
The Galaxy Tab S8 (SM-X700/X706) uses an 11-inch 2560x1600 LTPS TFT panel running at 120Hz, fully laminated to its digitizer and bonded to the Armor Aluminum frame, so a cracked screen means swapping the whole glass-and-LCD assembly rather than just the glass. A Wacom EMR layer inside that display reads the bundled S Pen, and the digitizer must be seated exactly or pen pressure and tilt cut out after the repair. We also service the 8,000 mAh adhesive-mounted battery, the worn USB-C port, and the side power-button fingerprint sensor, which has to be carefully transferred to the new housing.
- Premium Aftermarket LCD Assembly
- OEM Service Pack (Genuine Samsung)
Will the S Pen still work after a Tab S8 screen replacement?
Yes. The S Pen runs off a Wacom EMR digitizer layer built into the display assembly, so we fit a panel with a working digitizer and verify pen pressure, tilt, and the full 2560x1600 touch grid before handing the tablet back.
My Tab S8 still shows a picture but the glass is cracked. Do I need the whole assembly?
On the Tab S8 the top glass, the 11-inch LTPS LCD, and the digitizer are laminated together as one bonded unit, so even with a working image the cracked glass cannot be separated economically and we replace the complete assembly.
Does fixing the screen affect the fingerprint reader?
No. The Tab S8's fingerprint sensor sits in the side power button, not under the glass, so a screen swap leaves it untouched. We transfer and test the power-button flex so unlock still works.
