The iPad mini 5 pairs Apple's A12 Bionic with a fully laminated 7.9-inch 2048x1536 Retina LCD, so the cracked glass, digitizer and panel come as one bonded unit and there is no glass-only fix on this model. Its Touch ID home button is cryptographically paired to the logic board, so we always transfer your original button to keep fingerprint unlock alive, and the mini 5 keeps a 3.5mm headphone jack we test during port work. The 19.1 Wh battery and Lightning port are adhesive-mounted, so we use controlled heat to lift them without bowing the slim aluminum back.

Can you replace just the glass on my iPad mini 5?

No. Unlike the older non-laminated minis, the mini 5's front glass is bonded directly to its 7.9-inch Retina LCD, so a proper fix means swapping the complete display assembly; a glass-only attempt leaves touch dead zones and image haze.

Will Touch ID still work after the repair?

Yes, as long as your original home button survives. On the mini 5 the Touch ID sensor is paired to that specific iPad, so we transfer your existing button; if the button itself was destroyed, fingerprint unlock can't be restored but the iPad runs fine on a passcode.

My iPad mini 5 won't charge, is the battery dead?

Usually it's the Lightning port first. On a 2019 mini 5 it collects pocket lint and wears from years of plugging in, so we clean and test the port before touching the glued-in 19.1 Wh battery, which we only replace if it's truly degraded or swelling.
