Its under-display optical fingerprint reader sits beneath that OLED and gets re-seated and recalibrated during a screen swap, or it stops authenticating. We also handle the A50's glued 4000mAh cell, which swells with age and lifts the Exynos 9610 board's laminated display.

Will my fingerprint scanner still work after an A50 screen replacement?

The Galaxy A50 uses an optical fingerprint sensor mounted under the Super AMOLED, so we transfer and recalibrate it during the swap; a low-grade panel can break that under-display readout, which is why we test fingerprint unlock on the A50 before returning it.

Can you just replace the glass on my A50 instead of the whole screen?

No — the A50's outer glass is laminated straight onto the Super AMOLED with no air gap, so the cracked glass and the panel lift off together and are fitted as one bonded assembly.

My A50's screen is lifting at one edge — is that the battery?

Usually yes; the A50's glued 4000mAh battery swells over a couple of years and pushes up on the laminated AMOLED, so we replace the swollen cell and re-seat the display before the panel cracks from that pressure.
